No. Official VilaNet signs in with your email and password. It does not ask you to paste a subscription URL, and it has no “update subscription” step. After you sign in, the app fetches the node list itself.
How official VilaNet connects
- Install official VilaNet from the VilaVPN downloads page or the store for this device. Where to download is in Which VilaNet app should I use? and Unable to download the client.
- Open VilaNet. The sign-in labels are E-mail, Password, and Login. Review and accept the Terms of Use (EULA) and the Privacy Agreement as the screen asks.
- Enter the email and password for your VilaVPN account, then select Login.
- After a successful login you should see the main screen. An expired or inactive package has to be renewed before it can connect. Nowhere in this flow should you be asked to paste a subscription link or to update a subscription address.

The old “unable to update subscription” article does not apply to VilaNet
Unable to update subscription tells you to import the subscription address again. That sentence is for a client that still uses a subscription address. Official VilaNet does not import one, so do not look for a subscription link inside VilaNet, and do not import one as a way to “update the subscription.”
The official app fetches the current node list itself. It does not need an import, and it does not need that link activated in the client area. The refresh icon on the main page only makes VilaNet load the node list again. It is not “update subscription” in a third-party client.
If the screen is asking for a subscription link
You are not on the official VilaNet sign-in screen. You are in an older or third-party client. New installs should start with official VilaNet. Keep a third-party app only when the service you already have still provides a compatible configuration and you specifically need that client. V2Ray and OpenConnect are no longer accepting new subscribers. The store sells the VilaNet service. If you already hold an older subscription, keep using it under that service’s own notes. The older desktop app VilaX also works by signing in, with no subscription link to import. VilaX has no phone version.
If you are sure you still use a subscription link, the sequence is in All nodes suddenly stopped working. Subscription links are deactivated by default; pulling before Activate can empty the list. Follow that article, and do not refresh a subscription on your own before you have followed it.
How to tell a subscription URL is not required
VilaNet accepts the login and opens the main screen, or the screen used to renew. You are not asked to paste a long subscription URL. An expired or inactive package must be renewed before it can connect.
