The first BitTorrent speed limit lasts 1 hour at 1 Mbps and ends on its own; if BitTorrent is detected again, the next limits last 3 hours and then 6 hours. The limit applies when BitTorrent, Thunder (Xunlei), or other P2P downloading is detected, and only the service that carried that traffic is limited. During the limit, Shadowsocks and some other protocols on that service are unavailable. Other protocols listed in the app, such as AnyTLS and VLESS, still work. A warning is sent by support ticket. Other services on the same account are not affected yet.
How the limit steps up
- Each limit has a fixed length and ends on its own. BitTorrent detected during a limit does not extend that limit.
- If it is detected again after a limit has ended, the service is limited again: next for 3 hours, then for 6 hours.
- If it is detected again after the 6-hour limit has ended, the service is suspended for 6 hours when 24 hours or more have passed since the first limit began. If less than 24 hours have passed, the 6-hour speed limit is applied again instead of a suspension.
- If it is detected again 24 hours or more after that suspension notice, the service is stopped permanently and is not restored on its own.
- If one service is suspended and BitTorrent continues on another service under the account, the whole account is banned permanently.
These steps are counted over 90 days. The rules are in the Terms of Service. Quit BitTorrent, Thunder (Xunlei), and other P2P tools on every device, and delete their tasks.
If the app already shows Plan suspended and an earliest end time, wait until the time on the screen. See Plan suspended. Do not calculate a different time.
How to tell it is fixed
The fixed length of this limit has ended, speed is no longer held at 1 Mbps, and the protocols that were unavailable during the limit can be used again if they are still listed for that service. A permanently stopped service does not come back by itself.
Still not working?
Sign in and open a ticket. Name the service, when the slowdown started, and which lines are still listed. See how to attach diagnostics. A permanently stopped service is not restored on its own.
