Use the official VilaNet app made for this device. Phones, computers and TVs each have their own app. A computer with no display uses the command-line client. If only this phone or computer needs VilaVPN, install that device's app. There is no public HarmonyOS package; do not install a file that claims to be one.

Download from an official source
- iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple TV: VilaNet on the App Store. It is not listed on the mainland China App Store, so you need a non-China Apple ID.
- Android phones, tablets and Android TV: Google Play.
- Windows, macOS, Linux and the Android package: the VilaVPN downloads page or the VilaNet releases page. Reaching GitHub from mainland China may require a VPN.
- A computer with no display: see How do I install and use VilaNet CLI? and the VilaNet CLI docs.
- Routers: OpenWrt at openwrt.vilavpn.com, Merlin at merlin.vilavpn.com. Start with OpenWrt or Merlin.
Use these official sources, not a copy from a forum or a file-sharing site. If none of the pages open, open a support ticket and name the device. The existing download note is Unable to download the client.
When to use a router
Choose OpenWrt or Merlin when you want compatible TVs, consoles or other home devices to use VilaVPN without an app on every device. Router setup is more technical: confirm compatibility and back up the router configuration before you install anything. After installation you sign in with your VilaVPN account. There is no subscription link to import. See How to use VilaVPN on routers.
When only this phone or computer needs access, install the app in the table above. You do not start with a router.
Older clients and new subscriptions
Shadowrocket, Quantumult X, V2RayNG, Clash and OpenConnect are legacy or third-party paths. If the device cannot run an official VilaNet app, an existing user may keep using one of them for now. New installations start with VilaNet. Third-party screens and features may differ from VilaVPN support instructions. V2Ray and OpenConnect are no longer accepting new subscribers, and the store sells the VilaNet service. See Correspondence between Apps and Services and third-party clients.
HarmonyOS
There is no public VilaNet installation package for HarmonyOS yet. Do not follow unofficial download instructions, and do not install a package that claims to be the HarmonyOS release.
How to tell you chose the right app
The app matches the device and the table, and it came from an official source above. You sign in with your VilaVPN account and connect. The official app does not ask you to paste a subscription link.
Still not working?
Sign-in is covered in How do I sign in to VilaNet?. Platform installs: Windows, Linux, Apple TV, Android TV. The docs continue at Install and sign in.
