If the VilaNet window on Windows is white, blank, or transparent, first check whether it happens only inside remote-control software; if it is also blank when you sit at the PC, install the current Windows build of VilaNet. A startup error that names GetDpiForWindow or GetDpiForSystem, and a login consent checkbox that will not stay checked, have different causes and are covered further down. A checkbox that clears itself is not an ordinary wrong-password failure.
White only inside Sunlogin, ToDesk, or Remote Desktop
If VilaNet is a white window only when you view it through Sunlogin, ToDesk, or similar remote software, and it looks normal when you are at the computer, VilaNet is usually fine. The window is drawn by the graphics card, and some remote viewers never capture that layer.
- Sit at the computer, open VilaNet, and confirm you can see the login page or the main page.
- If you still need the remote tool, switch its picture quality or renderer to a compatibility mode, or turn off hardware acceleration, then reconnect the remote session. You can also use the Remote Desktop app that comes with Windows.
Blank, white, or transparent at the computer itself
If the content area is white, blank, or transparent while you are at the PC, that is a graphics problem in the app. Install the current Windows build of VilaNet. Do not treat it as proof that the computer is too old and must be replaced. Do not treat a graphics-driver update as the only fix, and a driver update is not a guaranteed fix. Not every blank window has this same cause.
- Current installer: the VilaVPN downloads page or the GitHub releases page.
- You can also use Check Updates in VilaNet. Store installs do not show that item; use the official installer above.
If the window is still blank at the PC after the current build, keep an older copy that already displays on this computer. Do not keep installing the same failing package. Send support a screenshot and what you see now. Do not use the GetDpi section below for a transparent or white window.
Startup says GetDpiForWindow or GetDpiForSystem
If VilaNet will not open and Windows reports that GetDpiForWindow or GetDpiForSystem is missing, that error by itself does not mean Windows is damaged. Upgrading Windows is not the only fix. Install the current Windows build from the previous section first. That build does not guarantee that every older Windows 10 PC will start.
If the current build still shows the error, keep the new error text and open a ticket. Do not reinstall the same package in a loop, and do not send the same text again and again. A transparent or white window is not this fault.
The login consent checkbox will not stay checked
In the normal flow, ticking I have read and agree to: opens a data-consent dialog titled Allow minimal data to provide VPN service?. After you choose the blue Allow, the box stays ticked and you select Login. If Allow does not make the box stay ticked, the app is stuck on the login or consent page, or a storage or preferences error stops the window from opening, the local preferences file on this Windows PC is usually damaged.
The window's close button only hides VilaNet in the tray at the lower right. The app is still running. Quit it first: right-click the VilaNet tray icon and choose Quit.
- Press Win + R.
- Paste this path and press Enter:
%APPDATA%\com.viraltech\vilavpn - If you see shared_preferences.json, rename it to shared_preferences.json.bak.
- Open VilaNet again.
- If that folder does not exist, repeat steps 3 and 4 with this path:
%LOCALAPPDATA%\com.viraltech\vilavpn
This resets local app preferences only. It does not delete the account or the subscription. You may need to sign in again and tick some app settings again.
If the app still will not open, or the box still will not stay checked, install VilaX from the official downloads page and sign in with the same VilaVPN email and password. Ordinary sign-in failures belong in Can't login on Client APP and how to sign in. For the message No working API path available, or a red icon, see cannot sign in: red icon or API path.
How to tell it worked
- White only in a remote session: at the computer you can see the login page or the main page.
- Blank or transparent on the PC: after the current Windows build, the window shows text and buttons.
- GetDpi: the app opens and those two entry-point errors are gone.
- Checkbox: the box stays ticked, Allow lets you select Login, and the main page opens.
Still not working?
- The close button and the tray are explained in where settings went, and why closing the window leaves the VPN on.
- Install steps: the VilaNet Windows guide and install on Windows.
- From Contact Support, with Include app diagnostics on, say which of the cases above you have, the Windows version, and a screenshot or the exact error text.
