When VilaVPN is slow, repeat one real task with VilaNet connected and again with it disconnected, then try Auto Select once. One speed test cannot separate the app, the device, the website, Wi-Fi, and the internet provider.
Compare the same task
- Pick one task you can repeat, such as opening the same HTTPS website or playing the same content.
- While connected, write down the platform, app version, network type (Wi-Fi or cellular), selected server, and what actually happened.
- Disconnect VilaNet and repeat the task on the same network.
- Return to VilaNet, open Server Nodes, and choose Auto Select.
- Reconnect and do the task once more.
- Note whether the problem is constant, intermittent, or tied to one server or one network.
- If it continues, collect diagnostics. Do not keep flipping settings.
Auto Select picks an available server. It does not promise the same server every time. When you need a fixed location, see how to choose a server.
How to tell it is fixed
With Auto Select, the task finishes reliably, ordinary websites load, and VilaNet stays connected.
Fast in the daytime, slow every evening
When the same line slows at the evening peak, that is usually congestion on that line, not a broken account or a broken traffic allowance. In the official VilaNet app, switch region or line type and repeat the same task. From mainland China, try an IPLC or IEPL line, or HAYABUSA or FAST, first. You can also test outside the peak. Outside mainland China, do not move to IPLC or IEPL. See which servers to use outside mainland China.
Still not working?
- The task is also slow while disconnected: check the device, the network, or the website before you change VilaNet.
- Only one server is slow: go back to Auto Select and name that server to support.
- Only one website, app, or title is slow on every server: record the service, the content, the exact error, and whether it is also slow while disconnected. Do not treat that as the whole line being down. See Connected, but pages do not load and streaming and TV. Connected does not prove video will play, and not every title is available in every region.
- Speed is suddenly held very low after BitTorrent or other P2P use: see how long the BitTorrent speed limit lasts.

- The connection keeps dropping or stays slow: send the comparison and diagnostics with private details removed. Open Contact Support from Menu with Include app diagnostics on, or sign in and open a ticket. See Contact support.
