If VilaNet stays on Disconnecting, or it will not connect after an update, an old VilaNet VPN profile or an old VPN configuration is often still on the device. Remove that configuration, refresh the server list in the app, and allow the new profile. The official app fetches the server list itself. You do not activate or import a subscription link from the client area for this step.
iPhone or iPad: delete the old profiles
- Open Settings > General > VPN & Device Management > VPN.
- Delete every VilaNet profile listed there.
- Return to VilaNet and tap Refresh to update the server list.
- Connect again, and allow the system to create the VPN profile when it asks.
It fails after an update
After an upgrade, a leftover VPN configuration can block the new one. Delete the old configuration, then connect again as above.
If the VPN configuration is already stuck
- Open Settings > VPN > Vila VPN > the info button (i).
- Turn off Connect On Demand.
- Return to VilaNet and connect again.
While Connect On Demand is on, the system can bring a stuck configuration back. Turn it off before you connect.
How to tell it is fixed
The system allowed the new profile, VilaNet is no longer stuck on Disconnecting, and it can connect. Then use the cannot-connect check to confirm Connected and that ordinary websites load.
Still not working?
Stay with the result after the deletion. Do not reinstall over and over. Follow why VilaNet cannot connect, keep the error, and try Fastest under Auto-Select once. If it fails again, stop. Open Contact Support from Menu with Include app diagnostics on, or sign in and open a ticket. See Contact support and how to attach diagnostics. Say which profiles you deleted, and whether Connect On Demand was on or off.
