Why is the VilaNet server list empty?

When VilaNet shows no nodes, the protocol group is often collapsed. Tap or click the group header to open it. That is not a fault. If the list is still empty after the group is open, or Apple TV says no package or no servers, use the cases below. The official app loads nodes after you sign in. There is nothing to import.

Open the group first (phone, tablet, and computer)

  1. Open VilaNet and sign in. On the main page, tap the current server card to open Server Nodes.
  2. The top of the page shows the current package and Change. Under that are the Auto-Select group and the groups split by protocol.
  3. If you only see a group title and no node names, tap or click that header. A collapsed group is not a broken list. The same note is on Android, Windows, macOS, and Linux. Phones and tablets use a tap. Windows, macOS, and Linux use a click.
  4. Once it is open, Auto-Select includes Fastest and other entries. Protocol groups list each node’s name and latency under a country heading.
  5. After you pick a node, VilaNet returns to the main page and the status can still say Disconnected. Picking a node does not connect. Tap Connect and wait for Connected.

When the account has more than one package, Server Nodes shows the current package. Switching packages is covered in The account has two plans. How do I switch in the app?

The list is still empty after you open the group

After sign-in, official VilaNet fetches the node list on its own. Nothing is imported. If the list really is empty, sign out and sign back in, and confirm the service on the account is active. The refresh icon at the top right of the main page reloads the server list. That refresh belongs to the official app. It is not an “update subscription” action in a third-party client.

The shorter existing article is The server list has disappeared. If you are not in official VilaNet and you use a subscription link in a third-party client, the empty-list note in the second half of that article points to All nodes suddenly stopped working.

An empty list on Apple TV

On Apple TV the nodes are on the Servers page, not in the long Server Nodes list used on the phone. There is no pull-to-refresh. Use the Refresh button on that page.

  • No packages available: you are signed in, but the account has no active package. That is usually an expired subscription. Renew at vilavpn.com, then choose Refresh on the Servers page.
  • No servers found or Failed to load servers: the server list was not fetched. Choose Refresh and look again.
  • If the account has more than one package, select the package on the Servers page first. That package’s nodes appear in the list only after you select it.

Install and the first connection are in How do I install and connect VilaNet on Apple TV? The docs page is Apple TV.

How to tell the nodes are back

On a phone or computer, an open group shows node names. On Apple TV, the Servers page shows available servers or individual server cards. After you select one, tap Connect and wait until the main page says Connected. On a phone or computer, a blue server card only means that card is selected. It does not mean you are connected.
