To sync settings, upload them on the old device, then download them on the new device or after a reinstall. If you never uploaded, a reinstall does not bring the settings back. Restore defaults and account deletion are both under Settings > Account. Restore defaults returns every setting to the factory default. Account deletion permanently deletes the account and the related data, and it cannot be undone.
What is on this screen
Open Settings > Account.
- The account email shows the email you are signed in with.
- Change Password opens a form: current password, new password, and confirm.
- Manage Subscriptions opens the billing portal, Apple subscriptions, or Google Play, depending on how you paid. Cancel steps stay in How to cancel service subscription?. Do not use account deletion in place of those steps.
- Restore Purchases (iOS and macOS only) re-validates an earlier App Store purchase with the server. If you paid and the plan does not show, see I paid in the App Store or Google Play and the plan does not show.
Sync settings
Sync Settings has two actions. Upload saves all current app settings from this device to the server. Download restores a previously uploaded copy onto this device.
- On the device that still has the settings: open Settings > Account > Sync Settings > Upload.
- On the new device, sign in to the same account, then open Sync Settings > Download.
Settings disappear after a reinstall because a reinstall does not bring them back by itself. Download works only when an upload already exists. With no upload, there is no copy to download.
Restore default settings
- Open Settings > Account.
- Tap Restore Default Settings.
- Confirm in the dialog. After you confirm, every setting resets to the factory default.
This resets app settings. It is not the account deletion below.
Delete the account
Delete Account is shown in red, in the danger area. It permanently deletes your account and all related data. It asks you to confirm a second time. The action cannot be undone. Before you confirm, decide whether the subscription still needs the cancel article on its own.
How to tell it is done
- Sync: after Download on the new or reinstalled device, the app settings you uploaded are back on this device. If you never uploaded, this step has nothing to restore.
- Restore defaults: the confirmation dialog appears, and after you confirm, settings are at the factory default.
- Account deletion: after the second confirmation, the account and the related data are permanently deleted and cannot be undone.
Still not working?
If the device you uploaded from did not yet have the settings you want, Download cannot create them. Upload from the device that has them. If Download still does not match, open a ticket from the client area and say which device uploaded and which device downloaded. Open a ticket
